Win a Minibus Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

Competition Details

Rivervale Minibus is offering schools and organisations the opportunity to win one of two fully maintained minibuses for a 12-month period, with an annual mileage restriction of 10,000 miles.

Entrants can choose from:

• A non-D1 lightweight minibus (e.g., Citroën 17-seat Relay or Peugeot)
• A D1 minibus (e.g., 17-seat Ford Transit or Maxus 16-seat minibus)

Each prize includes a fully maintained contract covering MOT, servicing, 10-week safety inspections, and tyre replacement for wear and tear. Insurance and fuel costs are not included.

The competition runs from 28 January 2025 to 1 December 2025. Entries can be submitted at exhibitions attended by Rivervale Minibus or through the official website.

Reference to the “winner”, “winning organisation” or “hirer” shall mean any school that wins one of the prize draws.

Eligibility

• Open to organisations only; individuals may not enter.
• Entrants must be authorised to act on behalf of their organisation. Rivervale Minibus is not responsible for verifying whether an individual has such authority and will rely on their apparent authority on behalf of the organisation.
• Only one minibus can be won per organisation.

Prize Details

• There are two prize draws: one for the non-D1 minibus and one for the D1 minibus. Entrants must select which draw they want to be entered in. They can enter both draws separately, but one entry will not be applicable for both prizes.
• An organisation can only win one prize. If an organisation is drawn for both prizes, the second win will be forfeited, and another winner will be drawn.
• The prize consists of the use of a minibus for one year from the date of delivery.
• The minibus will be on a fully maintained contract for 12 months, including MOT, services, 10-week safety inspections, and tyre replacement due to wear and tear. Insurance and any accidental damage repairs are not covered and are the responsibility of the prize winner.
• Custom livery featuring Rivervale Minibus Limited branding will be applied. Refusal to accept branding will result in forfeiture of the prize and another winner will be drawn.
• No cash alternative is available.
• The prize is non-transferable.
• At the end of the 12-month period, the vehicle must be returned unless the organisation opts to purchase it under separate terms.

Notification of Winners

• The winner will be notified by email within one week of the closing date.
• Failure to respond within one week will result in forfeiture of the prize and another winner will be drawn.

Marketing and Publicity

• By entering the competition, organisations agree to participate in marketing activities in the event of their winning.
• This includes, but is not limited to, videos, photography, social media coverage, and other promotional content.
• The winning organisation will ensure that any individuals associated with the organisation shown in photography, social media posts, videos or any other marketing material have consented to their image being used.
• The winning organisation must accept the prize in its entirety, including all associated marketing obligations.

Rental Terms

• The hiring period starts from the date of delivery.
• The hirer must keep the vehicle in its possession and must not sell, rent out or otherwise dispose of the vehicle or allow any other organisation to use it.
• The vehicle remains the property of Rivervale Minibus Limited.
• The vehicle must be kept in good repair and condition, following the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) fair wear and tear guide.
• Maintenance, including servicing and tyre replacement due to fair wear and tear, is included.
• Any repairs due to accidental damage, negligence, or misuse are the responsibility of the hirer.
• Insurance is the responsibility of the hirer and must be fully comprehensive.
• The hirer is responsible for all legal obligations, including road traffic offences, penalty charges, congestion charges, and parking fines.
• The vehicle cannot be used for hire and reward or for any unauthorised purposes.
• The vehicle may not be taken outside the UK without prior written consent.
• If the vehicle is lost, stolen, or declared a total loss, the hirer must notify Rivervale Minibus Limited immediately and follow the required procedures.
• Any graphics applied beyond those fitted by Rivervale Minibus must be removed before returning the vehicle. Any damage caused by removal will be chargeable.
• The hirer must comply with all manufacturer guidelines for servicing and repairs.
• The vehicle must be returned at the end of the agreement in the same condition as delivered, allowing for fair wear and tear. Any excessive damage or missing equipment will be charged.
• If the vehicle is not returned at the end of the rental period, additional charges may apply.
• The competition prize includes a maximum mileage of 10,000 miles per annum and the hirer must notify Rivervale Minibus Limited if it exceeds this mileage. Any mileage exceeding this limit will be subject to an excess mileage charge of 50 pence per mile.

Care and Use of the Vehicle

• The hirer must keep the vehicle in their possession and under their control at all times.
• The hirer is responsible for any loss, theft, destruction, or damage to the vehicle.
• The hirer must not modify the vehicle without prior written consent.
• The hirer must not use the vehicle for motorsport, driving instruction, or any prohibited activity.
• Regular maintenance checks, such as tyre pressure and fluid levels, must be performed by the hirer.

Manufacturer Warranties and Exclusions of Liability

• The hirer acknowledges that Rivervale Minibus Limited is not the manufacturer of the vehicle and does not provide warranties beyond those offered by the manufacturer.
• Rivervale Minibus Limited is not liable for any losses arising from vehicle defects, except in cases of negligence.

Maintenance – Our Obligations

• Rivervale Minibus Limited will ensure regular servicing at manufacturer-recommended intervals.
• Replacement of worn-out tyres and puncture repairs (if repairable) will be covered.
• Any accidental damage, negligence, or misuse repairs are not covered.
• If the vehicle is deemed uneconomical to repair, Rivervale Minibus Limited reserves the right to request its return.

Maintenance – Your Obligations

• The hirer must arrange servicing at recommended intervals and maintain records.
• Any damage beyond fair wear and tear must be repaired at the hirer's expense.
• The hirer must follow manufacturer recommendations for fluid levels, tyre pressure, and general upkeep.
• If a fault develops, it must be reported immediately and repairs arranged promptly.
• The hirer is responsible for all fuel, oil, and windscreen replacement costs.

Excess Mileage Charge

The prize includes a mileage limit of 10,000 miles per annum. Any mileage exceeding this limit will incur an excess mileage charge, calculated at a set rate per mile as mentioned above.

Termination and Consequences

• Rivervale Minibus Limited reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement if the hirer breaches any terms.
• In the case of termination, the vehicle must be returned immediately.
• If the hirer fails to return the vehicle, Rivervale Minibus Limited may take legal action to recover the vehicle and associated costs.

General Conditions

• Rivervale Minibus Limited reserves the right to modify or terminate the competition at any time.
• All decisions made by Rivervale Minibus Limited regarding the competition are final.
• Entry into the competition constitutes full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
• These terms are governed by English law, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
