More about the Ford Tourneo Custom 9-seat minibus
The Ford Tourneo is the perfect choice for schools or organisations who want a smaller vehicle that can be driven on a car licence and doesn’t need a Section 19 Permit.
It has a 2lt diesel engine and we have both the 8-speed automatic or the manual which has mechanical limited slip differential. This helps improve traction and performance when you are driving on two different surfaces like asphalt and gravel, so it’s perfect getting you to sporting fixtures when you might be driving on a mix of grass and gravel.
It has twin side doors and a lower step in height making so your passengers can get in and out from the pavement easily and safely.
It seats 8 passengers and the driver and is a great looking vehicle, but with your livery and logo applied, you can imagine how impressive it would look out on the road.
Technology to improve connectivity and safety
In the Tourneo the driver has everything they need at their fingertips. There is a 13 inch touch screen with voice recognition and Ford’s SYNC® 4 Technology to help keep you informed on elements that might affect your journey like the weather, the traffic, where there are road works and even parking availability and plug-in info if you’re driving the electric version.
The vehicle’s technology will also assist you when you’re driving it has park assist, 360 cameras, brake assist, cruise control and lane centring.
Track Based Seating
The Tourneo custom has the new track-based rear seating so you can rearrange the seats to suit your passengers and cargo – just in case you’ve a canoe, or large bits of cricket kit to cart around.
In fact – lots of our customers use these smaller vehicles to take additional staff, team members and cargo to fixtures or residentials, while the majority of the team travels on a larger minibus.
Safety features out on the road
Adaptive cruise control technology will allow you to drive at the speed you want, so you can eliminate the risk of accidentally speeding, and if it senses a vehicle ahead the it will slow down to maintain it’s distance and then once the road is clear it will return to the set speed.
Safety is always so important, and driver fatigue is something that is often overlooked with busy schedules – In the Ford Tourneo you have ‘lane centring’ to literally keep your drivers on the straight and narrow. It uses a light steering torque to keep the vehicle centred and will alter them if they are moving towards the edge of the lane without indicating.
