The Citroën ë-Spacetourer is a fully electric 9-seat (8 passenger seats) car with a benchmark range of 136 miles and it can charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes with a 100kw charger.
These vehicles are popular to lease through us because they do not require a Section 19 Permit to drive, and D1 Entitlement is not required either, as the vehicle is under 3.5 tonnes.
Rivervale are excited to introduce the Citroën ë-SpaceTourer, a great looking, full electric, nine-seater vehicle (8 passengers and a driver) that does not need a Section 19 Permit or D1 entitlement to drive. Perfect for organisations who have younger drivers, or drivers who do not want to drive larger minibuses.
The electric motor provides the equivalent of 136hp, and a maximum speed of 81mph. You can expect a milage range of around 136 miles, so you’d get from London to Bristol in a single charge. Mileage range depends on the weight of your vehicle (your passengers and any luggage), the speed and types of roads you are driving on and the amount of electric you are using within the vehicle, such as heating or air con.
In the Citroën ë-SpaceTourer you have three driving modes to make the most of your battery;
Versatility is the predominate feature of this vehicle, along with sophistication and comfort. It is available in two lengths and both the M and XL versions can easily accommodate 8 passengers and the driver with plenty of flexible seating and storage space. While it’s big on the inside it is small enough, 1.9m in height, to drive around without the worry of height or width restrictions in underground car parks.
The Citroën ë-SpaceTourer has a distinctive, contemporary design. The large windows and expansive windshield provide excellent visibility, while the signature Citroën front grille and LED lighting system add a touch of sophistication.
There are several smart safety features to protect your drivers and vehicle when out on the road, these include:
Intelligent Beam Headlights from 15mph the vehicle will dip and then switch back to full beam when it detects another vehicle on the road.
The Speed Limit Recognition And Recommendation System indicates the speed limit that needs to be observed. When a speed limit sign is detected by the camera, the vehicle offers to make this the new cruise control or speed limiter setting.
Coffee Break Alerts. Driver fatigue is a serious issue, and the system will remind the driver after two hours of continuous driving over 40mph that it is time to take a break.
The Driver Attention Warning monitors the attention levels of the driver via the multifunction camera located at the top of the windscreen. If the driver drops their attention, then an audible and visible warning is heard/displayed.
The Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) will alert the driver if the vehicle crosses a solid or broken lane-marker line, without the use of indicators. This stops the driver from veering across lanes accidentally or without proper indication.
The active safety break uses a multifunctional camera at the top of the windscreen to stop the vehicle or reduce the speed (and so force of an impact) by braking for the driver to avoid an anticipated collision with a moving or stationary object.
Hill Start Assist prevents vehicles from rolling backwards on a slope of more than 3%, for around 2 seconds, to allow the driver to move off calmly and safely.
The Reversing Camera With Top Rear Vision displays the view from the back of the vehicle with the addition of coloured lines to show the proximity of any obstacles, as well as a 180° rear view of the vehicle surroundings.
For the drivers’ convenience there is keyless entry and start, allowing them to unlock and lock the car without removing the key from the safety of a pocket or bag. The front seats are nice and spacious and there is ergonomically designed seating throughout providing excellent support for your back throughout long journeys. The Citroën ë-SpaceTourer Electric also comes with some advanced technologies to make driving easier. The 7” colour touchscreen connects you to all of the car’s functions, your media, your phone and a navigation system. With Mirror Screen drivers can use their smartphones safely, controlling compatible apps through the 7” touchscreen using Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™.
Drivers have the advantage of a 180° Colour Reversing Camera that displays an aerial view of the rear part of the car to help with precise parking even in the tightest parking spaces.
You can use voice control to get real-time traffic information and updates and the weather, as well as finding out the nearest location of fuel/charging stations and their prices.
The system includes ‘Speed Camera Alert’ options so you will know when you’re approaching a speed trap and there is an automatic drive mode selector allowing you to choose between Eco, Normal and Power depending on the type of roads you are driving on.
The Citroën ë-SpaceTourer has two side sliding doors to make embarkation and disembarkation from the pavement easier and safer for your passengers. To make the process even easier the seats in row 2 can easily be tipped forward to allow a wider space for access to the third row of seats.
Passenger comfort has also been considered with features like sun blinds, aircraft-style picnic tables and cup holders as wells as numerous storage compartments, multiple USB sockets, and plus 12 V or 230 V sockets (depending on your choice of vehicle) to charge larger devises like laptops.
The seats that are in the rear of the Citroën ë-SpaceTourer can also be moved to give passengers that extra bit of leg room – or allow for more luggage or personal items. Depending on the version you choose the back three seats can also be completely removed to give you more storage.
The Citroën ë-SpaceTourer Electric has a 50KWH battery and expected charging times depend on the speed of the charger you are using. A single phase wall box (7.4KW) will take approximately 7.5 hours to charge, perfect for overnight charging. A three phase wall box or rapid network charger with 11KW will take approximately 4.5 hours to charge, but a rapid charge point of 100kw will only take around 30 minutes.
The charging flap is located on the front-left wing and incorporates an LED so that you can visually monitor the progress when charging.
In summary it would be hard to find a harder working, more flexible electric vehicle for organisations looking to transport smaller groups in comfort and style. This vehicle is designed to be comfortable and practical for both the driver and the passenger with technology to enhance the journey and keep everyone on board as safe as possible.
