Driver Training
There is no better way to improve minibus safety than to regularly train and assess your drivers.
Your minibus driver training options from Rivervale
Rivervale has a choice of driver training options that cover all your driver might need, from D1 Driver Training to an online driver assessment. Use our helpful guide to help decide what kind of training your drivers need, then find out more about these courses on their dedicated pages.
We are keen that you not only know what training is available, but why you need it. If you have any questions, our team will be happy to help.
D1 Driver Training
You need D1 Driver Training if you are being paid to drive, or are driving a minibus over 3500kg. Rivervale offers one-to-one driving tuition to improve your chances of passing first time.

MiDAS Driver Awareness Scheme
MiDAS is a nationally recognised scheme aimed at refreshing minibus drivers' skills every 4 years. You can take MiDAS whether you have D1 entitlement or not.

Online Driver Assessment
Health and Safety Law requires employers to risk-assess their drivers. Our online driver assessment platform is a reliable way to risk-assess drivers and ensure they complete further online training.

Online Minibus Management Course
If you are confused about who can drive a minibus and what licences and training your drivers need, our online Minibus Management Course is designed to help.
It is suitable for anyone involved in managing or driving minibuses, and includes information on vehicles, licences, driver training and permits.

Section 19 Permits
The Section 19 Permit is a small disk that is placed in the front windscreen of each of your minibuses. They will last 5 years, and are issued by the DVSA at the cost of £11. However, the permit can be taken taken away if the DVSA requirements are not followed.
